Abstract :
The electromagnetic scattering model of an electrically large space-target is constructed by the hybrid asymptotic method of PO, ILDC and IPO, which considers the EM coupling between different parts of the target. The space-target is partly covered on its surface by a wrapped layer, the roughness of which is proved to follow Gaussian distribution. The backscattering RCS of the target is calculated and compared to the MoM solution as well as measured data for the non-wrapped case, which shows the validity of the algorithm. The influence caused by the wrapped layer on the scattering pattern of the target is investigated under calculation. The results show that the layer can cause a reduction in the backscattering RCS at its peak value by 10 dBsm at least.
