Abstract
These papers review the recent pushover analysis done on building structures including reinforced concrete structure and steel structure. Recent earthquake tremors experienced in Malaysia, due to far-field seismic effects from nearby Sumatra, has raised concerns about the safety and vulnerability of our existing building structures. Many of our building structures are not designed and detailed for earthquake due to no consideration of seismic design requirement in our current structural design standards. With this review it helps to generate better understanding on the importance of pushover analysis as the ideal analysis on obtaining the performance of a building induced by ground movement.
