Abstract :
This paper presents the author´s subjective experience in using program example to teach a course on Web applications development. The purpose of the course is to teach the principles of database driven Web sites. A series of program examples are developed to provide students framework of Web-based applications, lectures and demonstrations are used to provide information on a need-to-know basis. Each student is responsible for a course project, building their knowledge on database, on ASP and on client/server applications within a ¿learning by doing¿ environment, and had developed near-professional quality Web sites by the end of the semester. This application-centered approach is proved to be efficient learning style among students and grasped database application programming skills effectively.
