Abstract :
Monofractal and multifractal methods have been used to characterize the temporal fluctuations of PM10 pollution indexes in Shanghai. It shows that the daily PM10 pollution indexes in Shanghai are characterized by self-similarity, scale invariance, long range dependence and multifractal scaling. Introducing a set of variable window sizes, we analyze the temporal evolution of the monofractal and multifractal behaviors of the daily PM10 pollution indexes. Some information about the temporal evolution dynamics of PM10 pollution indexes is revealed. Our study suggests that the variable window sizes method can be help to the analysis of air pollution time series temporal evolution dynamical mechanisms.
