Abstract :
For broadcasting satellites precise contour beam antennas are required. Single shaped reflector antennas are suitable for that purpose, since they do not need complex feed networks. Some optimization programs have been developed using classical techniques, such as conjugate gradient. In this paper a new technique combining genetic algorithm (GA) with conjugate gradient is presented for designing such antennas.
