Abstract
The advent of grid-connected power electronics applications calls for a good understanding of the possible control methods. A common issue relates herein to the inherent nonzero steady-state error associated to stationary reference frame direct control of sinusoidal waveforms. This paper offers an alternative to the most-used proportional-integral-sinusoidal control solution (also called resonant controller). Secondly, the novel solution considers a separate control for the positive and negative half-waves of the sine-wave reference. Each controller is associated with one of the two switches on the same converter leg with advantages in hardware implementation. The nonzero steady-state error issue is solved with additional benefits.
