Abstract :
Electric Performance Support System (EPSS) as an integrated electronic environment can improve the performance of each employee in enterprises by means of providing him/her training and educational information they need in the job. In this paper we introduce the workflow technology into the design of Web-based EPSS, which dynamically manages process models in terms of changes of the workflow. By instantiating the process models continually, the different types of project instantiation can be obtained which forms the basis of a general EPSS platform. The design procedure of such EPSS, including data layer design, process model instantiation method, routing engine algorithm, resource push rule design, control layer design, is presented in detail in the paper. The merits of the proposed EPSS lie in its high flexibility and knowledge sharing capability.
