Abstract
Within a functional EMC simulation for automotive component tests, the cable harness shows significant influence to the radiated emissions. Detailed harness models can be generated with the help of a full wave simulation within the frequency range. However, the calculation process is a very time intensive task, especially if the complete setup in respect to CISPR25 for radiated emissions is considered. With the help of one simplified simulation and auxiliary calibration measurements, it is possible to speed up the model generation process of the harness and to consider the ambient measurement structures. The method is presented for different harness structures and tested for assemblies with up to ten wires.
