Abstract :
The proposed model problem is geometrically very simple, with 2D circular inclusions, but still feature-rich enough to be representative for a class of negative-index metamaterial slabs with resonant magnetic and non-resonant electric response. We discuss the usefulness of this model problem for benchmarking purposes and show some numerical results compared with the quasistatic prediction.
