Abstract :
This paper presents a cluster remote video surveillance system (CRVSS) based on the client/server model. The system implemented video remote transmission through RTP, UDP and IP with a new video compression standard H.263. With feedback mechanism of RTCP, the server of CRVSS dynamically adjusted frame transmission rate according to network status, which could avoid network congestion and enhance video transmission quality. In addition, the uniform control problem was solved through plug-ins method that integrated the uniform control of terminal devices and transparent access to the system server. The S/KEY was used in CRVSS in order to protect the authentication data, which provides the CRVSS with strong security and extendibility.
