Abstract :
This paper presents a novel conceptual framework of decentralized and distributed manufacturing systems. This framework combines the advantages of both decentralized and distributed structures. A dedicated decision module is also designed within this framework This module embeds identification, optimization and simulation techniques into the conventional control strategies, and provides potential capability to deal with uncertain and unexpected situations.
