Abstract :
Security in mobile applications is becoming today a hot topic. In this paper we discuss its essential technical challenges from two seemingly separate perspectives: malware protection -the security as seen by mobile device users- and digital right management -the security as seen by operators and content providers. We suggest a unified interpretation of the technical requirements posed by these two perspectives. We also present Trusted SIM, a proof-of-concept implementation demonstrating the proposed unified approach.
