Abstract :
Invasiveness and lack of autonomy are reported as the main barriers of current physical activity measurement systems. A non-invasive and autonomous physical activity measurement system is proposed in this work. The system is based on the use of a wearable device, a data gateway and a remote service to collect and process data. Using a watch-like device, the proposed solution is validated with three elderly users living independently at home under free-living conditions. The compliance and acceptance of the system is better than similar works.
