Abstract :
An efficient numerical method is developed in analyzing antenna elements of a cylindrically shaped conformal array system based on microstrip antennas, by taking into account curved surfaces and various substrate materials. In order to optimize the design parameters of such an antenna to achieve the desired directivity and input impedance, a three-dimensional electromagnetic code based on the method of auxiliary sources is developed. The validity of the method is checked and numerical results are presented. Both near field and far field calculations are made and presented in the paper.
