Abstract :
Tunable cost-effective WDM transmitters have become of great interest in WDM networks allowing 1:N rather then traditional 1:1 protection. The capability of directly modulating these lasers will dramatically reduce the transmitter cost. Here the mode stability and side mode suppression ratio are studied and accordingly the transmitter performance is optimized for a grating coupler sampled reflector laser system
