Abstract :
The author reviews various techniques for measuring the complex permittivity of materials at microwave frequencies. A simple and reliable method for calculating the complex permittivity of thin films is presented. The technique can be extended to measure the complex permittivity of fluids, the complex permeability of ferromagnetic materials, and the moisture content in fluids and solids
