Abstract
The quality of power supply depends on the quality of electrical energy, and also on the frequency and duration of probable interruptions in power supply, which increase with decrease of electric power quality (EPQ). The problem of EPQ has an important economic and technical significance for all countries, including Israel. Based on well-known experiences of solving the main aspects of EPQ problems in various countries, it is possible to formulate the following important tasks, which require answers in the case of the Israel power network: realization of EPQ level measurements in power networks at various voltage levels, in order to accumulate information about the state of variations of the EPQ in the Israeli power system; creation of the local standards or adaption of foreign ones regarding the EPQ problem for the Israeli power systems; and installing of automatic EPQ monitors in main power networks, in order to register the state parameters of the Israeli power system
