Abstract
The composition, microstructure and dielectric properties of lead-based relaxor ferroelectric ceramics used for high performance low firing MLCs have been studied systematically. The Y5V, Y5U and X7R MLCs fabricated not only exhibit high dielectric constant, low sintering temperature but also have low ageing rate and good biased field behaviour and breakdown strength and excellent reliability comparable to that of normal middle and high sintering temperature MLCs. Low-firing PMN-based MLC has been commercialized and shows a wide application prospect
