Abstract :
The deflection yoke (DY) coil, which is used in the CRT (cathode ray tube), has to be manufactured exactly as designed for CRT screen accuracy. In the production of the coil, conventional self-bonding wire was coated with polyamide resin because of its good bondability. But the deflection yoke coil with a polyamide self-bonding wire coat was difficult to manufacture as designed; therefore, the accuracy of the CRT screen could not be guaranteed. The authors describe a new self-bonding wire which has good bondability and little coil deformation. This wire has the following properties: the amount of coil deformation is not changed under high temperatures; near-perfect DY coils are manufactured; and the wire is solderable. The new self-bonding wire is expected to shorten the manufacturing process and to improve windability. It is concluded that this new self-bonding wire should be useful in improving the accuracy of the CRT screen
