Abstract
Manufacturers of electrical products review a variety of performance characteristics of an insulating resin. In order to compare resins, tests are available which measure various mechanical and electrical properties. Dielectric strength, dissipation factor, and dielectric constant tests are reviewed. Each review gives the basic test procedure as outlined in NEMA Standard RE-2, possible variables, and a brief theoretical development of the test
