  • Abstract
A research framework based on project evaluation theories and methods is designed for tackling brownfield problems in China. The proposed framework illustrates the steps for investigation of various issues of brownfields in China including the analysis and summary of the current research situation and achievements of brownfield redevelopment activities in China; the construction of an ecosystem-oriented, stakeholder-based full life span integrated evaluation criterion system; and the establishment of a soft evaluation and decision system for brownfield redevelopment project. A Grey Theory-based Grey AHP evaluation model is also proposed to show how a soft evaluation and decision model works in a brownfield redevelopment project evaluation. The proposed framework can give guidance to systematically solving brownfield problems in China.
