Abstract :
The growth of gas-fired generation in the UK over has by any standards been extremely rapid. In 1990 gas held a 1% stake in the market which by 1997 had increased to 27%. This market share is due to increase as projects which have received the necessary consents reach completion. This paper examines some of the contractual issues that are likely to arise for generators from the interaction between the proposals emerging from the Review of the Electricity Trading Arrangements and electricity and gas markets in light of the Review of Gas Trading Arrangements
