Ecological Restoration in Xiamen Sea

With Xiamen´s rapid social and economic development, many ecological problems and crisis have appeared in Xiamen Sea. Since Xiamen adopted the concept of integrated coastal management (ICM), it has carried out ecological restoration, which includes rehabilitation of marine habitats and protection of species´ restoration. This paper uses the case study format to show the specific process that has been used, especially measures and results of ecological restoration for Xiamen Sea. The actions have obtained good experiences for environmental, social and economic benefits.
