            Abstract :
A ternary composite was prepared from Polyaspartic acid (PASP), polyepoxysuccinic acid (PESA) and aconitic acid-acrylic acid copolymer (AA-AA). The performances of scale inhibiting, dispersion and biodegradability of the ternary composite in different mass ratio were studied. The results showed that when the mass ratio m(PASP):m(PESA):m(AA-AA) was 1:1:2, the scale inhibition on calcium carbonate was 96.73%, the transmittance on dispersing ferric oxide was 20.9% and its biodegradability efficiency was 76% on the 28th day of the ternary composite at a dosage of 12 mg/L. The results of dynamic experiment indicated that the ternary composite was an environmentally friendly scale inhibitor which was applicable to high hardness water. The scale inhibition on calcium carbonate is still more than 90% when water hardness is 1056mg/L.
