Abstract :
The (Ln, A)MnO3 perovskite manganites [1-3] (where Ln represents trivalent rare-earth elements, and A stands for divalent alkaline-earth cations) are considered as potential candidates for magnetic refrigeration because they exhibit pronounced MCEs, low density, good chemical stability, low cost and nontoxicity. Therefore, there has been a great deal of attention paid recently to the MCE of perovskite manganites, as reviewed in Refs. [2] and [4].
