Abstract :
We designed, fabricated and characterized a transparent micromachined dielectrophoretic device, used for separating or trapping beads. Desired electrode patterns for generating dielectrophoresis are obtained on an indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate. The advantage of using ITO electrodes is higher optical transparency. Microfluidic channels combined with this optically transparent dielectrophoretic device can prove to be useful in clinical and diagnostic applications.
