Abstract :
In order to accelerate the process of identifying and characterizing genes, a rapid method for gene isolation is essential. One approach is to isolate cDNA clones from a plasmid library. Described here is a process referred to as CuraSelect which uses a small amount of known sequence data from an otherwise unknown gene to target and specifically recover it from a complex cDNA plasmid library. Following this rapid isolation process, the gene of interest is available for sequencing and further characterization studies
