Abstract :
Mobile ad hoc networks have typically used the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol with a single interface and a unique channel to transfer data. The trend to use multiple interfaces and multiple channels was only in mesh networks or in cellular networks. This paper is a state of art on multi-hop ad hoc networks where one uses more than one interface and more than one channel. We analyzed recent advances concerning MAC protocols and adapted routing protocols. This description of related work is followed by a discussion on open research issues related to this theme. We focus on throughput-oriented approaches
