Abstract :
The paper provides a structured discussion of the numerous approaches which have been proposed for ranking fuzzy numbers. Emphasis is put on principles rather than on technical details or on computational issues for the sake of brevity. This structured presentation provides a basis for comparing fuzzy ranking methods.
