Abstract :
This paper describes a frame-based reasoning mechanism and its implementation for regression testing. It describes a prototype rule set for data flow-based retesting to illustrate how the knowledge-based system can be used to support a particular retesting strategy. The key function of the mechanism is to deduce and maintain the reusability of test cases. The system is based on frames and a truth maintenance system (TMS). It provides a common framework allowing individual program analysis and test tools to share information and their capabilities for intelligent regression testing. The system also provides a flexible mechanism that supports various testing techniques and strategies
