Abstract
In order to develop an effective technical methodology for environmental pollution data management and modeling, this paper propose an integrated framework for pollution modeling based on the GIS database. Three layers, including the pollution data management layer, the modeling and analysis layer, and the application layer, construct the complete framework. Design issues of the framework are discussed and a detailed example is introduced to illustrate how the framework works. It is observed that the framework is feasible and can benefit future GIS applications in environmental pollution data management, modeling and analysis.
