  • Abstract
This paper presents a multi-channel transmission scheme for multihop links. The scheme aims at eliminating the effect of interferences from relay nodes in a CSMA/CA network. This is achieved by developing a link-partitioning scheme where nodes in the neighboring partitions operate at different non-overlapping frequency bands. For mobile ad-hoc network communications where a multihop link may change dynamically, we also present a systematic channel assignment technique, which has been specifically developed for the ad-hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol. It is shown that the proposed multi-channel system can effectively suppress intra-path interference, hence considerably enhance the throughput performance for continuous media communications.
