Abstract
This review consists of three parts. In the first part the contents of the statistical antenna theory (SAT) are set forth. The second part is devoted to considering three stages of SAT development. In the last part of the report application of modern SAT are discussed. Both common regions of this theory application and some interesting new ones, in which SAT is not used till now as it should be, are indicated
