Abstract :
In the framework of the on-going R&D project of fuzzy logic control (FLC) application to the Belgian Reactor 1 (BR1) at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCR CEN). We aim to be of benefit to the existing control systems by applying fuzzy logic as an additional tool for both the safety and economic aspects in nuclear power plants (NPPs). Research involved in this project will provide a real test case and be only a step towards future FLC applications in NPPs. However, the licensing aspect of this technology as nuclear technology could be more challenging and time consuming. In the paper we mainly report all necessary research steps concerning our real online experiments of controlling nuclear reactor power with fuzzy logic.
