Abstract
This paper investigates a fuzzy PID control scheme for stabilization of power system. Based on the fuzzy inference technique, three PID parameters of the proposed controller are accurately self-tuned under given active and reactive power conditions. Simulation results show that the resulting stabilization of power system is superior to the one of the conventional power system stabilizer (PSS) at various initial rotor angles. Furthermore, its performance can effectively recover even in case of the sudden load change and of the 3 phase short fault.
