Abstract :
In the field of healthcare building design, there are two significant focuses on Eco-effective design (EED) and Evidence-based design (EBD). Regarding the indoor air quality for occupants´ health, EBD may conflict with EED goals. This research proposed a Healthcare and Sustainable Parametric Method (HSPM) incorporating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and then used this method to a design project related to a kinetic canopy of a building. With other auxiliary programs, the method is powerful to define, represent and analyze the building design for healthcare and energy efficiency, and ultimately may be an effective way to connect the EBD and EED.
