Abstract :
Color-scale morphological operations by flat structuring elements are introduced in this paper. Color-scale alternative sequential filters are constructed based on the fundamental color-scale morphological filters. In color-scale morphological filters, the correlation between color components is utilized so that noise in the color image is morphologically filtered. Furthermore, new schemes of color edge detection are presented. Some experimental results show that the color-scale alternative sequential filters can very powerfully eliminate noise in color images without blurring edges in the color image and the new methods of color edge detection are robust and efficient
