Abstract :
A new method, based on the use of LMIs, is presented for the design of dynamic pre-compensators to achieve high levels of diagonal dominance. This is combined with a new technique for designing diagonal loop-shaping controllers such that the resulting closed loop system will be guaranteed to satisfy some prescribed mixed-sensitivity constraints on its singular values. The effectiveness of the combined methods is illustrated by application to the design of a simply structure dominance-based controller for an aircraft gas-turbine engine.
