Abstract :
A novel method based on rotating magnetic field distribution was proposed for the design of omnidirectional wireless power transfer (OWPT) system . A 2-D cross coil was proposed to generated the rotating magnetic field . Theoretical calculation and experimental results show the proposed system can support mobile receiver around the transmitter . In addition, transfer efficiency improvement and magnetic field control were studied and demonstrated by experiment.
