Abstract
To ensure the rapid and uniform heating of a workpiece, the zone-control induction heating (ZCIH) system has been developed. This system has several coils, each of which is connected to an independent inverter unit. The frequencies and phases of the currents are treated as being equal to avoid interference between coils. Recently, we proposed an equivalent circuit model called the “multi-port transformer model” to reduce the computational cost of the parameters, and we performed comparison with FEM results to determine its accuracy. In this paper, to validate the computational accuracy of the proposed multi-port transformer model, we compare the parametric results obtained by performing simulations using the multi-port transformer model, FEM, and experimental data.
