Abstract :
At present, there are two options to develop Profibus-DP Slave. One option is to use private intelligent P-rofibus protocol communication chip to develop [1]. The other achieves it to use the software programming in microcontroller. But the above two options exist some defects. For example, the first option can´t be applied in the self-development occasions because the program of ASIC can´t be modified and also the ASIC is very expensive. The second option can´t complete high transfer-rate due to be restricted by microcontroller of low operating frequency, but it costs less money on hardware. So, this article proposes a new proposal that the intelligent Profibus-DP slave will complete through software programming in the 32-bit STM32F103 embedded systems to resolve the shortcoming in the above options. In this paper, it first analyzes the feasibility of high-speed transmission using STM32F103 chip. Then, it detailedly gives the design of the DP slave in hardware and software aspects. Finally, the completed DP slave will make a trial whether the slave meet the necessary requirements.
