Abstract
The Ohio State University Center for Intelligent Transportation (CITR), an Associate Member of the NAHSC (National Automated Highway System Consortium), was invited to participate in the 1997 Technology Demonstration, providing a scenario which came to be labeled “alternative technologies”. OSU demonstrated two fully automated cars, illustrating autonomous behavior with a third manual car. It also demonstrated the use of a radar reflective stripe placed on the roadway for steering purposes, providing an alternative technology to using distinct magnets
