Abstract :
Dedicated short range communications (DSRC) is a critical part of the national ITS architecture. However, due to the large number of incompatible electronic toll collection deployments, it has been difficult to standardize the air interface. The paper discusses the current status of the air interface standards being developed by the American Society of Testing and Materials and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers with assistance from the US Department of Transportation
