Abstract :
MANETs may be deployed in places where communication is required but no infrastructure is present, such as in many infrastructure-less scenarios where a SIP central server model becomes a central point of failure. This necessitates the design of an overlay architecture such as Peer to Peer SIP above the transport layer to provide services for delay sensitive applications such as VoIP and Video. Currently there is no proper correlation between MANETs and P2PSIP. In this paper we propose a novel cross-layered solution design for handling the P2PSIP overlay. This solution provides useful information that can address the key research challenges surrounding availability and reliability of P2PSIP within mobile ad hoc networks.
