  • Abstract
It is noted that there are several ways of increasing the numbers of minority graduate students at universities. One method that has proven successful for the School of Engineering at Morgan State University (MSU) is to develop relationships and partnerships with other engineering schools. These relationships can be beneficial for both faculty and students, as well as the schools as a whole. The authors discuss the roles faculty play in these relationships and with students´ selection of and admission into graduate programs. They then present the origin, operation, and benefits of a specific relationship that MSU´s School of Engineering has developed, the SUNY (State University of New York) Binghamton-Morgan partnership. They also discuss the graduate schools that Morgan students attend, and the successes that have been attributed in part to these special school relationships
