Abstract :
Intelligent diagnostic systems have been proposed for maintenance and repairs of automobiles which are available at the service level. Many other vehicle functions are also introduced and automated for improving the performance in the interest of the user. In the present work an intelligent commute adviser is proposed which can advise a user/operator about the ability of the vehicle to accomplish a journey/task. A novel neural network based incipient fault detector is introduced in the reasoning process to develop the commute adviser. The system is useful in many kinds of transportation services
