  • Abstract
    In this paper, an analytical least squares technique for the design of 2-D FIR filters is presented. Our attention is focused on the design of fan type 2-D filters. The coefficients of the filters are obtained by solving a system of linear equations. Also, closed-form expressions are derived for the elements of the matrices which appear in least squares approach. This analytical solution enables fast calculation and simplicity of the overall filter design
