Abstract
In this paper a theoretical study for antenna optimization based on novel concepts is performed. These concepts are based on antenna flair bending and antenna flair area minimization based on surface current distribution. It is shown that bending antenna flairs can reduction antenna dimensions by 30% to 40% while keeping the operational bandwidth intact and shifting it to higher frequencies. It is also shown that the extraction of non-radiation areas based on the observation surface currents does not influence much the antenna parameters.
