Abstract :
In this paper, a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) error mitigation on time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements from pilot signals of a wireless communication network is proposed to solve the positioning and tracking issue involved in the environments where some base stations have NLOS errors. NLOS propagation error occurs when a direct path between a target and a sensor is blocked by some obstacles. NLOS is the major source of TDOA, which will cause poor accuracy in measurements due to technical limitations of a communication system and propagation environments. To mitigate the NLOS error in a cellular network, the best TDOA measurements are selected in measurement detection based on the prediction of the current state of the object, which has not been considered by previous works. Simulations results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed method is superior to the some state-of-the-art algorithms.
