Abstract
A full 3D moment-method (MoM) analysis is discussed which has had 2D sheet-impedance elements introduced to model the dielectric substrate of ungrounded printed circuit boards. The use of 2D sheet-impedance elements significantly improves the computational efficiency of the MoM reducing the demands of both core memory and CPU by more than an order of magnitude. The analysis is applied to single, coupled and loaded tracks across the frequency range 50 MHz to 3 GHz. The currents on the tracks and the local near-fields, both computed by the MoM with the 2D sheet-impedance elements and the original MoM are demonstrated to be in good agreement
